Trinity High School’s wrestling program delivered an unforgettable performance this February, capturing not one—but two—3A state titles in a dominant postseason run. On February 17, competing at Wheatmore High School, Trinity secured the 3A Dual Team State Championship at the North Carolina High School Athletic Association playoffs. Just days later, from February 19–21 at the Greensboro Coliseum, the Bulldogs continued their momentum by claiming the 3A Individual Team State Championship, solidifying their place among the state’s elite programs. This remarkable achievement reflects the hard work, determination, and unity of a talented group of student-athletes. Team members contributing to this championship season include Aiden Burkholder, Addam Bernal, Jeven Palmeri, Stephen Cross, Edgar Vasquez-Mora, Omega Edge, Hezekyah Matson, Simeon Hammett, Trent Walker, Gavin Schaefer, Kenedi Palmer, Haris Idrees, Anees Khan, Nolan Chanthalacksa, Grayson Carroll, JoJo Trahan, Ezekiel Martinez, and Na'gayle Carroll. The success of the program is guided by Head Coach Brandon Coggins, alongside assistant coaches Marcus Sayers and Adam Walker, whose leadership and commitment have helped shape a culture of excellence. In recognition of his outstanding leadership, Coach Coggins was also named the NCHSAA 3A Coach of the Year. Support from school leadership, including Principal Dr. Brian Toth and Athletic Director Robert Mitchell, has also played a key role in fostering an environment where student-athletes can thrive. Trinity’s back-to-back championships are a testament to the team’s perseverance, skill, and Bulldog pride—an achievement that will be celebrated across the Randolph County School System.
