3-16-21 Message from Dr. Gainey

Good evening middle school and high school parents and students of the Randolph County
School System,
This is Stephen Gainey. I am calling to make you aware of the following information:
At the Board of Education meeting on 3/15/21, a decision was made to allow all students in
grades 6-12 to return to school for four days per week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and
Friday starting on 4/6/21. Wednesday will remain as a “remote instruction day” for these
students. As a result of this decision, between now and 3:30 p.m. on 3/19/21, parents of students
in grades 6-12 will be required to make a decision regarding the use of one of the following two
plans for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year:
Plan #1 A student participates in face-to-face instruction on his or her school’s
campus for four days per week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and
Friday. Wednesday will remain as a “remote instruction day” for these
students.

OR

Plan #2 A student participates in 100% remote instruction. In other words, the
student does not come to campus on any day of the week and engages in
remote instruction for every day of the week.

Please note that your child should continue to follow his or her current plan through the end of
the day on 3/26/21. A student’s engagement in Plan #1 or Plan #2 will not start until 4/6/21.
Also, a student currently engaging in 2 days of face-to-face instruction with 3 days of remote
instruction will automatically transition to 4 days of face-to-face instruction, which is Plan #1,
unless his or her parent chooses otherwise by 3:30 p.m. on 3/19/21. In addition, a student
currently engaging in 100% remote instruction will automatically continue with that plan, which
is Plan #2, unless his or her parent chooses otherwise by 3:30 p.m. on 3/19/21.
As a reminder, the deadline for the previously-noted decision is 3:30 p.m. on 3/19/21. Parents
should contact their child’s school regarding their decision.
On another note, once a decision is made for a student in terms of following Plan #1 or Plan #2
starting on 4/6/21, he or she can not change plans for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school
year.
This message also will be posted on the homepage of the school system’s webpage.
I hope everyone has a great night!!!!

Good afternoon, Trinity High School parents, this is Principal Brian Toth.  I am calling to let you know that our school was placed in lockdown this morning at 11:35. The lockdown was initiated per the direction of the Archdale Police Department, which was dealing with a law enforcement situation in the community near the school.

The school worked closely with law enforcement and upon determining that there was no threat to our students and staff, the lockdown ended at 11:40 a.m.

At no time were our students or staff in any danger. As a reminder, when in lockdown all exterior doors of the school building are locked and all classroom doors are locked, and no one is allowed to enter or exit the building or classrooms.

Thank you and have a good day.

Hello.  This is Trinity High School calling with some announcements.

Our first announcement is very important as it pertains to the registration process for the 2021-2022 school year.  This year the registration process will look different. Students will complete their registration forms online and meet 1-on-1 with a member of our registration team via Google Meet during the dates of March 15-March 26. Tonight, rising tenth through twelfth-grade students will receive an email from Mr. Lanier. This email will be titled “2021-2022 Registration Information.” This email will be sent to each student's RCSS issued school email address. Students will need to completely read the contents of this email for in depth instructions regarding the registration process. Within this email, students will receive course recommendations and a link to their grade-level registration form. Students must complete this registration form before their assigned virtual meeting with a registration team member. Within this email, students will also find their virtual 1-on-1 registration meeting date and time. Instructions to enter the Google Meet can also be found within this email.

Before students complete their online registration form, we encourage students and parents to explore our Trinity High School Virtual Curriculum Fair Website. A link to this website will be included within each student’s registration email instructions. A link will also be available on Trinity High School’s website.  In addition to our Virtual Curriculum Fair, Student Services will host a Virtual Parent Night on Tuesday, March 9th starting at 6:00PM. This meeting is intended for rising tenth grade students and will be hosted through Zoom. A link will be posted on Trinity High School’s website on Tuesday morning.  That’s March the 9th.

Parents of Trinity High School,

This is Brian Toth. I am calling to inform you that the school system learned of two positive COVID-19 cases today, 2/5/21, on the campus of Trinity High School.  Please know that the school system worked closely on these cases with Randolph County Public Health.  Any person who has been exposed has already been notified of this exposure, or will be contacted by the leaders of Randolph County Public Health through their contact tracing process.  In addition, due to the reduced number of staff members available to operate the school with face-to-face instruction as a result of these cases, the school system has decided to place Trinity High School on remote instruction starting on 2/8/21 through the end of the day on 2/18/21.  As a result, face-to-face instruction will resume for Group A students on 2/22/21 and Group B students on 2/19/21.  If you have any health concerns regarding this matter, I encourage you to contact your healthcare provider or Randolph County Public Health.

Please know that our school system has followed all of the directives of Randolph County Public Health to ensure the safety of all students and staff members on the school's campus.

Your continued efforts to help our school monitor your child’s health conditions in relation to COVID-19 are greatly appreciated.  I greatly appreciate your continued support of our school. Thank you and have a good weekend.
